At the Infokom conference of the Scientific Association for Infocommunications (HTE), Dr. Csaba Huszty of Entel chairs a session titled "Lines busy again: the outlook for telecom networks in Hungary". (The Hungarian original puns on "foglalt", which means both "engaged/occupied" in the business sense and "busy" as in a busy phone line.)
People have been talking about it for years, and now it has happened: the Hungarian telecommunications market is starting to transform in earnest. The twist is that the shift didn't begin with the smaller players — it started with the large ones. What market and strategic drivers are at play? What new services are telecom operators preparing? Do domestic trends follow global and regional patterns, or are we carving our own path? Is the role of telecom operators being repriced in today's economic and geopolitical context? What are the development directions of the near future? Can 5G be profitable?
Session time: 7 November 2023, 13:45–15:15.
