At the Infokom conference of the Scientific Association for Infocommunications (HTE), Dr. Csaba Huszty of Entel chairs a session titled "Government telecommunications networks — development and outlook".
Government telecommunications networks have been developed continuously over the past decades. Today, a network logically — and to a large extent physically — separate from the public ones serves state and citizen needs. End-point data rates and network coverage keep growing, but is that enough to meet the service demands of an increasingly digitised state?
Can the current security-first development concept remain sustainable? How will equipment and technical standards be maintained and upgraded? Will there be demand and funding to develop government networks further, or is the infrastructure "done" and only the services still need work? How does the new governance structure for the area shape infrastructure strategy, service portfolio and financing?
